A custom spiral staircase installed in a luxury residential home in Austin’s Sunridge area, providing elegant access to a loft space.
Purpose: Connecting the main floor to a loft area with a stylish, space-saving design
We used a pre-engineered steel spiral staircase kit, which included treads, a central column, and railings, all pre-cut for assembly. Fabrication involved assembling the kit in our workshop over 2 days, ensuring all components aligned perfectly before transport. We powder-coated the steel in a matte black finish for durability and aesthetics. Installation at Rivka Cove in Sunridge took 1 day, with our team securing the central column to the floor and loft, adjusting treads on-site for a precise fit, and ensuring stability with additional anchoring.
The challenge during installation was ensuring the spiral staircase’s alignment in the tight space of the Rivka Cove home. We used laser leveling tools during fabrication to pre-align components and made micro-adjustments on-site with shims to achieve a perfect vertical rise, guaranteeing safety and a smooth climb.
The spiral staircase features a sleek matte black powder-coated finish, complementing the home’s modern aesthetic. Its compact design maximizes floor space while adding a sculptural element to the interior.
We worked closely with 360 Construction and the homeowners on this project. Framers ensured the loft opening was prepped for installation, while drywall teams coordinated to maintain the surrounding design flow. Electrical teams adjusted lighting placements to highlight the staircase.
