Custom interior hand-railings for a luxury residential home on Gillis St. in Austin, enhancing both safety and style.

We crafted these handrailings using hollow 2×1 steel tubing for the top bar, bottom bar, and horizontal supports, ensuring a lightweight yet sturdy design. Fabrication took 3 days in our workshop, followed by a powder-coated black finish for durability and a sleek look. Installation at 4600 Gillis was completed in 1 day, with precise on-site measurements for a seamless fit.

The challenge was balancing the hollow tubing’s lightweight design with the need for structural integrity. We reinforced key joints with internal bracing and conducted rigorous stress tests in the workshop to ensure safety before installation.

The SoMa Railings feature a minimalist, modern design with powder-coated black steel, complementing the home’s contemporary aesthetic. The hollow 2×1 tubing creates a clean, linear look while maintaining a firm grip for safety.

We worked closely with 360 Construction on this project. Framers ensured proper alignment for installation, while drywall and insulation teams coordinated to maintain the home’s design flow. Plumbing and electrical teams adjusted their layouts to accommodate the railing placements.
