What we build

Custom handrails, staircases, and structural steel for luxury residential work — templated on site, TIG welded in our northeast Austin shop, powder-coated, and installed by the same crew.

Core services

Rails, stairs, and steel — built in-house

Every job runs through the same shop: measure, fabricate, coat, install. No subcontracted welding. We work steel, iron, aluminum, bronze, and copper for new construction and remodels across Austin and west to Lakeway.

Cathedral-style interior handrail in a Sunridge loft

Interior handrails

Horizontal-bar rails, vertical pickets, and cathedral layouts for vaulted ceilings and open stairwells. Hidden anchors, custom brackets, and lines that follow the architecture — not fight it.

  • 1.5-inch cylindrical steel tubing
  • Matte black, satin black, or gloss white powder coat
  • On-site templating for rises, runs, and angles
  • Typical install: one day after shop fab

Outdoor steel handrail on exterior stairs

Outdoor handrails & stairs

Weather-rated rails for exterior stairs, entry steps, and grade changes. Hand-templated to the slope, TIG welded, and powder-coated for Texas sun and rain.

  • High-grade steel, welded joints — no screw-together kits
  • Finish matched to the home (black, white, custom)
  • Balcony and landing transitions included
  • Lakeway and west Austin outdoor work
See outdoor stair rail →
Sunridge spiral staircase with wood treads

Staircases & spiral stairs

Custom spiral and straight stair systems — steel structure with wood treads or all-metal builds. Shop-assembled, powder-coated, laser-leveled and anchored on site.

  • Spiral and straight-run layouts
  • Pre-fit in shop before coat and delivery
  • One-day typical on-site set
  • Rivka Cove, Sunridge, and loft conversions

Stairwell handrails with vertical pickets and landing guard

Balcony & guardrails

Interior and exterior guardrails for landings, lofts, and second-story openings. Continuous top rails, code-conscious spacing, and finishes that match adjacent stair work.

  • Matching stair and landing systems
  • Vertical picket or horizontal bar layouts
  • Interior loft and mezzanine rails
  • Coordinated with GC and designer specs

Structural steel beam support in open floor plan

Structural & custom fabrication

Load-bearing beams, mounting posts, and one-off steel pieces for open floor plans and custom interiors. Shop-fabbed to drawing or field measure — exposed or concealed.

  • Steel beams and header supports
  • Custom posts, brackets, and bases
  • 4-day typical shop turnaround on structural
  • Semi-industrial or clean residential finish
See SoMa beam support →
Gloss white powder-coated handrail on outdoor balcony

Powder coating & finishing

In-house powder coat on every rail we build. Finish is part of the quote — not an add-on from a third party. Durable enough for outdoor Austin exposure.

  • Matte black, satin black, gloss white
  • Custom color match on request
  • Applied after fab, before install
  • Same shop handles weld prep through cure

How we work

Template. Fabricate. Coat. Install.

Same crew from first measure to final anchor. No handoff to a sub. That is how we keep vaulted lines, spiral rises, and outdoor grades landing clean.

01 · Template

Measure on site

Hand templates and laser measurements for stairs, balconies, and vaulted runs. Photos and rough dimensions work for a ballpark — we confirm on site before cutting steel.

02 · Fabricate

Build in the shop

Cut and TIG weld in northeast Austin. Joints pre-fit, brackets fabricated, and assemblies test-fit before powder coat.

03 · Coat

Powder coat

Finish cured in-house — matte, satin, or gloss — matched to the home and rated for outdoor exposure where needed.

04 · Install

Set on site

One-day typical install with hidden anchors and field tweaks. The welder who built it is the crew that sets it.

Who we work with

Homeowners, builders, and designers

Most of our work comes through GC partnerships and designer referrals — but we take direct homeowner bids too.

Homeowners

New build or remodel — interior rails, outdoor stairs, spiral conversions. Send photos and a rough measurement; we will call back with a bid range.

Builders & GCs

Repeat work with 360 Construction, Brewerton Construction, and Austin luxury residential GCs. We template to schedule and hit one-day install windows.

Designers & architects

Collaborations with Baron Custom Design and others. We translate drawings into shop-cut steel — cathedral layouts, custom geometry, and finish-matched guard systems.

Common questions

Before you send a bid

Do you install, or fab-only?

Both — most residential jobs include shop fabrication and on-site install by our crew. Fab-only is available for GCs with their own install team.

What do you need for a quote?

Job site address or neighborhood, interior vs outdoor, rough length or step count, and photos if you have them. Plans and designer drawings help but are not required to start.

How long does a typical rail take?

Most custom interior or outdoor rails: 3–4 days in the shop, one day on site. Spiral stairs and structural work may run longer — we will give a timeline with the bid.

Can you match an existing rail or designer spec?

Yes. Send photos, a drawing, or the designer's detail — we template on site and build to match spacing, finish, and geometry.
